Monday, July 30th, 2012Details are just coming in, but residents of nearby Coleville, Virginia reported hearing a loud series of explosions coming from the location of Camp Magic Macguffin. Fortunately, all of the campers and counselors had gone home. The premises are sealed behind iron gates, but reporters have been leaked this video which tells the final story of camp.
Camp Endings: Part One
Saturday, July 28th, 2012Attention all Camp Magic MacGuffin counselors and campers: as you all pack up to go home, we feel compelled to share a strange video found on the headquarters computer this morning. Co-directors Burtis and Levine have been out of contact with us, so we can’t comment upon what this means. Perhaps some of you will be able to make sense of it. . .
Right after this recording a cel phone transmission was intercepted and recorded, it appears there is some urgency for returning to “the mine”
recording of intercepted audio

In this week we explore the ideas of remixes and mashups, the artistic recasting of existing media into new forms by creative combination and editing. This will build off of your previous work in all media forms. And we will even remix assignments. Crazy!

Week 7 Means It is Movie Time
Monday, July 2nd, 2012This week we enter what most students find the most challenging yet rewarding portion of ds106: video. Because of this complexity, for some of the assignments below (the star assignments from the Video Assignments section in the Repository) we will give you two weeks to complete them; all other items listed below are still due by this Sunday (July 8) at midnight. While we will start video editing this week, we want to spend some time first looking critically at the video form.
More resources and tutorial will be released into this week, so stay tuned to the Camp Tutorials area of this site.
