We know there’s been some incendiary nonsense being spouted by one particular camper on Twitter. Please disregard. We’re working on containing the issue.

Good Morning Campers!!

Welcome to the second week of Camp Magic MacGuffin. Congratulations to all of you who survived the first week.

As usual, all weekly work is due by midnight on Sunday (6/3/12). This week, everyone needs to make sure their sites are up and running. In addition, we’ll be diving into storytelling a bit more. Below, you’ll find all the details for week two.

We are one week out from the opening of camp. To help you get prepared, in this week’s video Martha and Alan review the Packing List, suggesting things campers should try and take care of before they arrive.

In addition, they take you into the 3D world of the Minecraft space we will be using for this course. It looks so cool!

We have started feeding blog sites into the camp site- if yours is not here, let us know, as we will need to update or add your feed to the magic syndication bus. Also new to the camp web site is our Frequently Asked Questions (and answers) area.

Make sure that you are signed up and registered for camp! The fun starts in one week.

Greetings Campers! We’re so excited to be gearing up for the start of this summer’s Camp Magic MacGuffin edition of DS106! Camp starts in two weeks on May 21st, and we want to make sure all of the campers have the information they need to prepare for this summer adventure.

First, we’d like you to take a moment to watch our introductory video. We filmed it last week on the grounds of the camp, so it’s a great opportunity to get to know us (your camp directors), see the beautiful location we’ll be living in, and learn more about what we have in store.

Next, you probably want to review the Summer Camp Program (also known as a “Syllabus“) and our Recommended Packing List. Both of these will give you more information about the structure of camp and the necessities that you need to begin assembling.

Finally, when you’re ready to get set up on the camp site, we need you to fill out this Registration Form and follow the instructions that are provided in it.

We wanted to make a special announcement for our open, online participants in this summer’s DS106 camp experience. To be clear, “Open, Online” participants are those crazy folks who want to be a part of DS106 but who aren’t credit-seeking students at UMW. (more…)
